There were 5 stations, the first station was a compassion station where the kids made items for other people. Isaac's favorites were the birdhouse they made for the birds and care packages for the military. The sports stations were football, taekwondo, basketball and kickball. Isaac became the well known in football for his funny touch down dance, which was basically Isaac doing a slow motion fall to the ground and laying there for a good minute. The football coach called it "The Dead Turtle" and all the kids wanted to do it too.
The kids learned to kick, run and scream from a stranger in Taekwondo thanks to Pastor Matt. They learned to dribble, and some of my 4-year olds actually made baskets, in basketball. I had the youngest kids in my group, they got tired and hungry a lot. Thankfully, I had lots of help from the other volunteers and I think the kids had a blast.
Reece also enjoyed the week with the babies. They swam in the baby pool and played in the shade. She did great with the other helpers, she didn't cry for me at all.
At the end of the week all the kids received medals for completing the week and we had a picnic with all the parents and family. It was a fun, exhausting week. We look forward to next year when we can do it again.
