We have been busy here at the Marta house. I have been especially busy with work stuff, homeschooling and Christmas stuff. We've had a few birthday parties this past month, including our nephew Declan's, who turned 3. The birthday party was a "blast," complete with homemade jet packs for each of the kids and a rocket launching show. What more could a little boy ask for? This picture shows how excited the cousins were to be with each other. I couldn't get them all to hold still at once. This was the best picture.
Meanwhile, at home the kids have been having so much fun with all the Christmas excitement. They helped decorate the tree and place all the extra stuff around the house. They helped bake our traditional sugar cookies along with the help of their friends Jeremiah and Aiden. Isaac has been counting the days down on his school calendar and his advent calendar. They got to go to Legoland and ride some of the bigger rides they haven't been on before. And lastly, seeing the Christmas lights around our neighborhood. We have a couple "exploding" houses that are just insane with decorations, lights and even a live Santa Claus handing out candy canes to the kids. The kids LOVED that. At one of the houses, Santa asked Isaac what he wanted for Christmas, and he said "A candy cane." Bam, wish granted.
This year, the kids received a cool train that goes around the tree. Isaac likes to turn it on and the bell ringing noise every morning as soon as they wake up. It is quite loud, good thing we don't have neighbors on that side of the house right now.
This will be a first for us in a long time not heading up to Sacramento for Christmas vacation. We are definitely sad we're missing out on all the Kenney festivities. We do get the Marta grandparents at our house this year. The kids are super excited to see them and can't wait for all the fun at Christmas.
Merry Christmas to everyone who reads our blog. Thanks for following us on here. Please leave us comments anytime. We love to hear from you and how you're doing as well.
